Dhaka City

Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, is a colorful and thriving metropolis of some 11.5 million people; it bears an exciting history and rich culture. Known around the world as the city of mosques, muslin and rickshaws,it has attracted travelers from far and near. According to recorded history it was founded in 1608 A.D. as the seat of the imperial Mughal viceroy of Bengal. Having a splendorous blending of old and new architectural trends, Dhaka has been developing fast as modern city and is vibrating with activities in all spheres of life. It is the center of industrial, commercial cultural educational and political activities for Bangladesh. Motijheel is the main commercial area of the city. Dhaka’s major waterfront Sadarghat is on the bank of the river Buriganga and is crowded with all kinds of rivercraft, yachts, country boats, motor launches, paddle steamers, fishermen’s boats all bustling with activity. Colorful (tricycle) rickshaws on the city street are common attractions for the visitors. For Kids Attractions now we have two world standard theme parks called 1) Fantasy Kingdom and 2) Nandan Park which are 30 Minutes drive from Dhaka International Airport. Inside the park you shall enjoy varities Rides, Water Sports, Roller Coaster Rides and live musical show. Baitul Mukarram Mosque is the National Mosque of Bangladesh. It was built by Ahmed Bawani after the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. It can accommodate 30,000 worshippers. It is situated in the heart of the city.

Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (Parliament House) at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar has distinctive architecture features. It may be called an Architectural Wonder of the world.

Shahid Minar

Twenty first February of every year is observed throughout the country to pay respect and homage to the sacred souls of the martyrs of Language Movement of 1952. Blood was shed on this day at the Central Shahid Minar (Near Dhaka Medical College Hospital) area to establish Bangla as a state language of the then Pakistan. Now 21st February now observed in the world as international mother language day.


Bejoy Fuara is a monument of Independence Day. Bejoy means Independence & Fuara means fountain in English. Therefore, this Fuara is known as Independence Fountain. It contains the glory of Bangladeshi. It is situated near the National Parliament of Bangladesh. At night the shade of the fountain color bound to take your breathes away for a moment or two.
